Thanks!
Thank y'all for such a warm welcome. And hello, another Ashley, from Texas! I consider myself from there, even though I wasn't born there like my husband. I mostly grew up in Tyler, TX but moved away 3 yrs ago. Missin' the Lone Star State! GO COWBOYS!!!!
Anyway, about my search- didn't really know I was interested in these types of trailers until I began searching for an rv for the family on craigslist. I would love a teardrop, but the size/price/configuration doesn't work for my family of 4 (at least, in my $ range). So, I began looking into all kinds of retro trailers, especially the fiberglass "egg" campers, but still couldn't find what I wanted. I came across an Airstream that was reallllllly overpriced and realized when I went to look at it that I loved the look and feel, along with the layouts of these old beauties. They had the configurations I was looking for in smaller sizes with an exterior that is unique and can stand up well to time. So, I began looking at the Airstream and weighing options and realized I just can't afford one, and the ones I can afford, I can't afford what it would cost to make beautiful again. Then...I came across an Argosy and thought, "cool!" An Air, that isn't an Air, that I can do what I want with, without offending the Airstream originals! So...here I am, still searching. Might have found one if I can get them to come down on their price.
