Welcome to the forums! You have come to the right place to get loads of information on all things Airstreams. Good luck with your restoration.

I haven't done it myself, but I know there are others around here that have taken out the tub in coaches around your vintage year. Good luck with your restoration. We'd love to see some photos!

Hi Stain, you're in for a lot of work or fun. (there's no way taking the insulation out could be called fun!)

I'm just putting the floor back on mine. A '61, so it's quite similar if you run into any problems.

Hi Stain,

If you are having trouble removing the drain, I've read about a few people who applied heat to the drain pipe to get it to loosen up. Put up some pics when you get a chance. I'd love to see another 59' Overlander in the process of being restored.

Hi and welcome. '59s are the best!!!

If you get the drain plumbing out and are still having trouble getting the tub out then try to run a thin piece of metal under the tub as in most cases, the factory glued the bottom to the floor. Mine was really stuck down and I used a piece of aluminum about the size and shape of a wooden yardstick to get the glue loose.

Best of luck and as everyone else says "Show us some pix."
