Hello all,

I like the forum guidelines you've developed, I'm amazed at the size of this discussion group, and I'm looking forward to participating.

My wife and I anticipate owning our own Airstream this year. We were originally looking at Casita, and switched (rather easily) to the Bambi upon comparing the two side-by-side. There's nothing quite like sitting in the chairs, feeling the materials (even lying in the bed) to appreciate the quality of an Airstream.

We're in Florida on the East coast, about 20 miles or so South of Cape Canaveral in a small town that was founded and mostly built by my in-laws and their cousins who came down from N. Carolina in the late 50s.

Anyway thanks for the opportuniity to join up - and thanks in advance for your replies to my questions (I will likely have quite a few). In the meantime I'd like to research a few topics on my own; is there a way to search the forums and/or a FAQ I can use to accomplish this?

Welcome to the forums. There is a wealth of information here and the folks are friendly and more than willing to share their vast knowledge of all things Airstreams. I doubt you can ask a question that can't be answered by someone who hasn't done it or contemplated doing it to their own unit.

You should check into one of the Central Florida units of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International. It is the official club of Airstreaming. Just brace yourself for a little controversy from time to time as the club is trying to prepare itself for a shift into the 21st century. The people are great and the caravans sound like fun. The rallies are great ways to meet other Airstreamers, too.
