Hello from Saskatchewan, Canada....

Greetings:
My wife and I are very close to concluding a deal on a 2013 - 28' Flying cloud off the west coast. We plan to import it back into Canada and then use it extensively both in Canada and the USA.

We are new to Airstreams and the RV lifestyle, but are fast learners. Or at least I hope we are! We are recently retired, so for the first time in our lives we have the time to spread our wings a little and fly.... and that exactly what we plan to do!

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and say hello

Cheers

Greetings! We really enjoy the western national parks in both BC/Alberta and the US. And the nice thing about being retired is that you won't be tied down to camping on weekends or during the high season.

We had never owned an RV till we bought this one. Yes, we had a steep learning curve, sometimes fraught with awkward moments, but everything works out in the end. The best piece of advice we were given is not to be afraid to ask other campers (who appear experienced) for advice or assistance. You make them feel like heroes and your problem often gets solved.

And this forum has such a wealth of advice on all kinds of matters, from mechanical to culinary.

Welcome Arcticfox!

Congratulations on your new Airstream! We are located in Saskatoon. Summers are short, but we try to make the most of our Airstream.

If you are free on the May long weekend, consider joining us at our Airstream rally in Wayne, Alberta. The Alberta-Saskatchewan unit is part of the WBCCI, and it is our unit's 50th anniversary this year! Here is a list of the coming rallies for this season: Alberta-Saskatchewan Canada Unit 120 » Rally Schedule 2014

You'll get to meet lots of Airstreamers who can help you get to know your new trailer.

Send me a private message if you would like more information.

Welcome and congrats on retirement and the new trailer. We're not retired yet but we just started camping last year ourselves. First trailer ever and we LOVE it!!

I highly recommend a safe RV driver training program if this is your first time. In the US, those are done at Commercial Drivers License training centers. Not sure of the Canadian equivalent.

Enjoy and good luck!!

The more Airstreams in Saskatchewan the better :-) Hope the deal and importation goes well for you.

Greetings from the wet coast.

Initially, I was a real Airstream nincompoop. But the trailer and I are still in one piece - for the most part. So, I am sure you will be fine.

Welcome to the forums and congratulation on retirement and the purchase of your new airstream, I bought our airstream in the u.s.a and imported it to canada , not sure if you ever did this if not it's super easy at the border they asked us what we bought and my wife said that big silver thing behind us! They asked us to move ahead and park and bring our receipt inside we filled out a form paid the gst taxes and that's it ! Even gave us a tax break because we were in the USA for four days, never opened the door of the trailer they didn't even step outside !of coarse we had all the paper work done ahead of time with great amount of assistance from colonial airstream dealer, got home had the Canadian inspection done and then went straight to licence bureau to get plates and paid pst taxes and were done , Anyways good luck and happy airstreaming!

Welcome from the West Coast! Yorkton is where my Mum's side of the family is from. In fact I did a short stint at Simpson Elementary while we were living with her parents for a year prior to our move to BC.
