Hello From Oklahoma
Hello,
I just acquired my first camper and just wanted to say hello and ask a quick question. I need some help identifying what year it is, the model and the VIN number. I know that might sound dumb but it came with no title and the person I hired to do the title 42 on it (literally yesterday) needs to know.
It was my grandpas trailer (he's dead), he sold it to my dad (who is dead also) and then my dad sold it to my uncle (hes dead also) and before he died he sold it to me. The title for it was lost somewhere in that chain of ownership. I am going to do my best at restoring this camper but need to get it legal first.
Here are some pictures of it.
All I know is that it's an Airstream, that it has a label on it of "International" and "Overlander". There are only two sets of numbers that i can find on it walking around it, (pictures of those attached). I measured it from the tip of the tow hitch to the rear bumper and its right at 28ft. Any assistance you all can give would be great. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to Airstream ownership. Your unit looks more like a 67 or 68. Didn’t see the tail lights. Go to Vintage Airstream Archives Pictures to match up the serial number. The serial number should be stamped on the plate under the window forward of the door. Good luck, Bubba

GREAT family History👍 Welcome Aboard!!
Looks like it's a 67 26'. 26=length, 7=year, 323=build
The bottom number is the one that the DMV will use for the registration.
Print this pic for the DMV.

The interior on that 67 Overlander is a perfect clone of mine except the couch in the very front. the couch in those pictures is just straight across the front but mine is U shaped and has a table in the middle. minus that difference it is exactly the same on everything else. Does that mean it is 1967 Overlander 26ft?
I could not find where one could look up serial number information on the Vintage Airstream Archives site. Can you link me to it please?

AWESOME !!!
Thanks to both of you.
Before I start renovating it I have a hunting trip in two months that i plan to take this on for 2 weeks in the woods. Need to get a few things fixed and unsure on some of those things so I'm heading off to the repair forums. Thanks again for both of your help.

Check out the Airstream.Com website. They have a ton of pics and information. Use the "Company", then "Document Archive" tabs.

I'm pretty sure also that the first digit is an "I", not a "1". That indicates International trim level.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the vintage Airstream community. You have "inherited" a wonderful vintage Airstream with many fond family memories I'm sure. The 66,67, and 68 trailers were unique. They were built with Corning curved glass windows. The glass actually will flex a bit. It was an experiment in making the trailer sleeker and smoother. Be careful with those windows as they can break and they are hard to replace. In 69, a whole new body was introduced, so your trailer is one of the last of the old body style.
I don't remember if Airstream made a "U" shaped dinette in the mid sixties. Most have a front "gaucho" that folded down into a bed. They had a fold up table for meals. Here is a link to the Airstream archives in case you haven't been there yet.

I used to own a 66 Trade Wind 24', one size smaller than yours. I now have a 75 Overlander 27' which is the newer body style. I like renovating these vintage Airstreams into comfortable campers. Other enjoy restoring them exactly like they left the factory. Two branches of the same hobby.
Jump right in the deep end of these Air Forums. There is all kinds of information available on your Overlander.
