Hello from Northern Nevada!

We bought a 53 Flying Cloud as a project. Super excited for the challenge! Will be coming here often for advice, vendors, etc.

Welcome from Colorado, and welcome to the vintage Airstream hobby. You found an oldie but goodie in your 53. I wonder if Flying Cloud is the oldest Airstream model name? Anyway, I bet Wally Byam has his fingerprints on your trailer somewhere.

You might want to consider starting a "project thread" in the Forums Knowledgebase - Airstream Trailers - found near the bottom of the Forums page. Then find Flying Cloud and your year range. Many folks use this section of the Forums to document their trailer, their progress, and their problems along the way. Others interested in the vintage hobby follow along and can answer questions for you. I think a project thread is a better approach than scattering your questions over the many, many subjects found in the general subjects sections.

You also might enjoy reading about other's Flying Cloud restoration or renovation projects in this same section of the Forums. Here is a very good one by Bubba L to get you started with your homework. There are other good ones for you to read too. There will be a pop quiz in the morning.

Welcome to the world of vintage Airsteams. The knowledge base on Airforums is a complete guide to all you wish to research. You acquired a neat Airstream. If you like, I can enter it on Captain Jones’ Flying Cloud Registry. The Registry lists the year, sequence number, city and Forum name it belongs to. Take care, be safe and great to have you with us.
