Hello everyone!

I recently bought a 1966 Tradewind and am looking forward to completly remodeling it. I'm handy but have never owned a trailer before so I'm a little overwhelmed but excited at the same time.

I bought the trailer because in January of last year, I up and sold everything and volunteered in New Orleans for 6 months. I had the time of my life and want to be able to do it again on a moments notice so I figured this was the way to go... and do it in style : )

I've looked around on this sight before and it seems unbelievably useful so I'm sure it will help when I'm ready to lose my religion.

You are truly in the right place. There are some amazing "Airstream wrenchs" here and they will gladly assist.

Use that search function and ask any and all questions. It's better to know that bit of crucial info before than after.

Welcome from the silverpod people. I am using my transformer cartoon voice as I type this in response to your forum name. Hope you hava a sense of humor. Just guessing it could be some kind of origin like that, but do tell.

Sounds like a plan to use your travel unit for the good of mankind. Hope you have some fun with it too. If you feel like it, share some stories of what you experienced during your service and how trailers played a part in the rescue and recovery operations. I can imagine those that had access to mobile living quarters were much better off and able to be less of a burden and be of help to others during the aftermath.

In turn, there is all kinds of advice here on fixing up the tradewind to be ready at a moments notice.
