Hello from Maryland

My partner Chris and I are soon-to-be first-time Airstream owners (picking up our 2012 Intl Signature 25FB in March). We live in Southern Maryland and this will be our first RV. All of our previous experience has been backpacking and car tent camping (and one RV rental trip to Yosemite and Sequoia area).

We've already been in touch with the MD Unit of WBCC - they seem very friendly and we hope to make their spring rally. We like rustic camping and already have a list of state parks in the area to visit. We're already dreaming about adding solar (especially if we move back to San Diego area for out in the Anza-Borrego desert).

We're looking forward to meeting and learning from everyone.

Thanks.

Howdy Matt and welcome aboard! I am afraid you've come down with a severe case of aluminitis. Good for you.

Get out and camp. Things will break. Things you need will not be with you. Many things you don't need will be with you. Everything will find its appropriate place and you will learn the ballet of the Airstream galley.

Get things fixed as necessary, learn to fix as much as you can, hire competent help for what is left. Don't obsess.

Go camping some more. Upon achieving geezerhood, camp all the time.

The Forums are a great help but there is no match for experience. I did mention lots of camping didn't I?

Have fun,

Mike
