Hello all,
I am in the process of buying our first Airstream. It is a 1971 31'
Sovereign in need of some work, some dents to pop, the rear bumper needs to be rebuilt, a 1' hole was ripped into the underside, etc. Comes home tomorrow, from only 7 miles away so no big deal.
We live in Western New York in Java. I recently converted a school bus into an RV but the wife isn't too keen on driving long distances in it, also at 6'1" I bump my head a lot. So since that project was complete, we found this project to keep me busy for another year or so.
During the day I am a digital design engineer for a defense contractor in Buffalo, NY. At nights and on the weekends I am hanging out with our 2 sons (almost 3 and almost 1) or in the wood shop where I run a small wood working business on the side.
We need a camper for camping (duh), traveling to craft shows where the business goes and the annual family reunion.
I look forward to getting lots of help and meeting others like me who don't mind taking a piece of history and working to restore it and keep it moving and running for as long as possible.
Later.
