Hello from Colorado: Some of the folks who have welcomed you to these Forums have done extensive renovations of vintage Airstream trailers. We have a mid 80s Limited 34' that has been in the family since new. I've done quite a bit of "fixing up" on this old girl, but it is travel ready and very comfortable. Here we are parked under a lemon tree. Not the smartest thing I've ever done.
I might suggest trailers in the 80s and 90s might be good candidates for you. THOR Industries made the trailers better than the ones in the 70s. I think the biggest weakness is the OSB subfloor (watch out for rot around the perimeter of the interior skins, especially windows and doors that might leak rain water.)
You might check out the classifieds within these Forums in your quest. You can zero in on your wants and see what might be available.
David
