My wife (Dakota's Mom) and I have been interested in getting an RV for sometime, we both grew up with camping parents/grand parents, and mine were also RVers, although they didn't get deep into RVing until after I had left for the Army..
We have camped quite a bit, and have now gotten old enough to feel the need for our own.... facilities, (and AC) when camping. And room for two golden retriever's. Looked at many a new SOB, and in fact our best friends fell in love with one and drug it home.. but we decided to be different..
We found these forums, realized the wealth of info available, which led us to the next stage..
So, after much searching and looking at about 2 dozen new and used, we settled on a 1979
Sovereign International that fell right in the "we can fix it, and heck, at that price we can scrap it and break even" point we were willing to attempt. She was sitting in Kansas, only a few miles from my wife's family, so we combined a
1500 mile drive with visiting her family and then hooking up to a 30yo AS we had known for a day, and pulling back home to Kentucky!
My wife has started a blog here to record our progress.. so off and running we are!
