Hello from Alabama!"New" 70 Sovereign Land Yacht

Hello all! I have been reading these forums since June when I came home from a beach trip and my husband had a 1970 Sovereign Land Yacht sitting in the driveway. His buddy had been using it as a hunting trailer. She had camo curtains, had been broken into and all the copper they could reach was stolen, and someone had used all the caulk and liquid nails in the south on everything possible. He was supposed to sell her for the guy, but I convinced him it would be a fun project. . He bought her for a great price, and now we have named her "Sylvia" and have been working on her daily ever since. You guys have helped us a lot already. Thanks!!!!

Michele

And this whole time I thought the previous owners of my '63 had used all of the caulk in the south, I guess they only used 1/2 of it!

We love photos...

Michele,

Welcome to the forums. Just to let you know about another source nearby, there is a very active WBCCI unit just ove the state line in GA. We own Airstream campground just north of Helen, GA, and hold rallies from April thru October. There are lot of friendly, knowledgable people there who loe Airstreams, and would be happy to help/answer questions. Visiting would Los give you. Chance to look in. Bunch of different Airstreams for ideas.

Is this another version of, "the puppy followed me home - can I keep him?" Great story - yes, would love to see pics! Nothing says love like camo curtains.

In addition to Top of Georgia as someone else posted, there is also a rally at GA Mountain Fair in Hiawassee, GA in October - search for Falluminum 2012. Another great venue for seeing others and getting ideas.

Cool beans - enjoy your (Sylvia Xtreme Makeover) project!

Cool! Thanks guys. We love going to Georgia. And actually, strangely enough, I am the one who talked him into keeping it! He wanted to patch it up and sell it to another hunter. I harassed him until he fell in love like I did. I couldn't bear the thought of her sitting in the woods. The camo curtains were the first thing I took out!
