Wink Hello all! New member.

Hello, my name is Nicole. And while I'm pretty young (mid-20's) it has been a dream of mine for quite awhile now (Over a decade!) to find, renovate and live in an airstream trailer. Where did I get this urge? I'm not entirely sure, but it wasn't that cool when I first started telling people about it, and my friends and family still don't understand it.

Anyway, I still have no immediate plans to buy an airstream, but I thought I should at least get involved with the community and start on the pertinent research.

See you around!
Nicole

Welcome Nicole!

This is a great place to get info on various things Airstream. You might also want to check out www.vintageairstream.com There is a lot of great tips for what to look for, places to buy stuff for renovation, etc.

Welcome Nicole. I heartily encourage your dream not only because of my Airstream addiction but from my son's dream. He showed us a video of the Appalachia trail and said I am going to walk it. He then spent the next year and half planning, sold most of what he owned and with a plane ticket we bought him took off for Atlanta. He started in March and finished in September walking 2600 miles by foot. This experience has been and will be a shaping point for his life. He continues to use it daily as most of us use a formal education. I see it as a part of the reason for his success in his chosen career field. So Nicole I encourage you to hold onto and develop your dream. We learn and grow in different ways. I look forward to hearing more from you and hopefully meeting you someday on your travels.

Welcome Nicole!

This is a great place to learn, and figure out exactly what you want in an Airstream. It's also a great community! I was in my mid-20's when we started looking for our first Airstream, and now we're mid-renovation on our 2nd. Our friends and family don't necessarily understand (in fact, most think we're nuts) but it doesn't bother us one bit. Good luck to you and hope you see you on the road one day.

Not everyone 'gets' it, but it sure is fun. And if you've got that wanderlust going on, there's no better way to get it out than to pack up the AS and go! Good luck with your dream!

Hi Nicole. I run the web sites for the Minnesota WBCCI. We often advertise trailers on the site and there are some links as well to other ads. Check out the Airstream Park at Clear Lake as well. There is a link on our site to the Park.

We do have a few younger folks joining the Mn. WBCCI and we would sure welcome you.

All the addresses for the sites are below.

Thanks for the welcome!

First of all, thanks for the words of encouragement and all the helpful links. I now know more about airstreams than I thought I could learn in a week! Though of course, I've barely scratched the surface. It has helped me narrow down to a desired trailer... But who am I kidding, I'd probably take the first reasonable trailer that crossed my path.

Chaplain Kent - I have a good friend who just completed the Pacific Coast Trail out west, so I know a little about what it takes, and what can come out of it. He is a never ending source of interesting stories and insights. He got a lot out of the experience too.

Jim - Thanks for the links. I'm from St. Cloud originally and didn't even know there was an AS-only park in Clear Lake. Do you know if there is going to be an open house at the May rally? I'd love to drop by, meet some people and ogle their trailers!
