Hello AirForums Community

Hello,

Just wanted to share that we picked up our first Airstream back in July. It's a 1971 Globetrotter (21') that we plan to completely gut and restore/modernize. We are brand new to towing/trailers and have already learned quite a bit from just reading the posts on this forum. Can't wait to contribute and document our restoration adventure.

Your new trailer looks good in the picture. Visit the Airstream Knowledge Base toward the bottom of the home page, and select Globetrotter. You will find all sorts of folks who have competed the journey you want to start. It's fun and rewarding.

Welcome...

My son has a 69 Globetrotter. It has some needs for sure. Someday I'd like to get my grubby little hands on it and try to make it better. The son doesn't think that is such a great idea.

In my humble opinion, I thought the Globetrotter had weird layouts, at least the 69 does. The wet bath isn't everything and it's very small. And one bed is next to the wet bath. The L shaped dinette is awkward too. I would think a gaucho and a fold out table would be better. Some Airstream enthusiasts have designed some nifty interiors for their Globetrotters. You'll get to see them in the Airstream Knowledge Base.

We want more pictures of your Globetrotter, inside and out, when you get a chance. Pleease!

She looks like she has nice skins. Rebuilding skins, subfloor and frames are some of the more difficult areas to tackle. Windows and doors ain't easy either. Maybe you found a "time capsule" that needs very little. Let us know your plans.
