Hello !

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to join a group of people that think that AIRSTREAMS are the Coolest campers ever made!!! I can remember when Lucy and Dezi went to on their trip in a camper, and have dreamed of doing the same ever since! I remember some of the items they used , including "VAGABOND" coolers ( which I collect ). I am 53 years old , have always lived in Illinois, (except time in military), love to hunt and fish, and married with a 16 year old son. My wife doesn't like to camp with us, but I only have a 1972 pop-up camper. It is either too hot or too cold! I have been looking and bidding on airstreams for the last six months. I think she will change her mind after I find the right Airstream! I do have one question right off the start due to an auction right now on EBAY. What is the dry weight for a 28ft , 1966 airstream? It was not designated as Land Yacht, Overlander, etc . Hope I can talk with many of you in the future! Thanks!! Dennis

Hi Dennis, and welcome to the forums. If the trailer you are interested in is a 28-footer, it's probably an Ambassador with a dry weight of 4540 lbs. This PDF document ( Airstream weights.pdf) will give you a list of Airstream years with dry weight and tongue weight for each model. Good luck with your search!
