Hello
Hi, new member here.
I signed up to try and sell an old airstream suarestream.
I was going to scrap it out but I would hate to do that.
It has an aluminum body and I could probably get more money by scraping it.
What say you? Scrap or sale?

Welcome,
You leave a lot of questions unanswered - like why would you scrap it? Do you have a title? What works what doesn't ? Is a project half finished or intact? Add some interior and exterior photos - it probably has value for someone.

No tittle.
100% factory.
It needs a lot of work.
I am new, is there a place I can post to ask people what they think the value is?

Nothing I tested worked.
-Refrigerator
-AC
-hot water tank. (Busted)
-fresh water tank. (Busted)
-Heater (works but I rigged)
-Roof leak
I was going to keep it but I got mad because the guy I purchased it from said everything worked but out of the 10 items I tested only 2 works.
I got mad and decided to take a heck of a loss and more less give it away and if I can't I will have to scrap it which I would hate to do.
Maybe I should part it out?

Is it possible that you do not understand how the systems function? Our brand new hot water heater did not work because a valve was closed. A simple electrical failure can take out a lot of systems. Edit - based on your last post, maybe you do.
But the answer to your question is - Sell it. Scrap takes a lot of work. Why put more of yourself into something that gives you no joy and frustrates you.
Put a "for sale - make and offer" sign on it. Be honest as to what you know. Someone will be vane enough to believe they can fix what you can't. The one thing you purchased that will not go away is perceived value. Use it to your advantage. Keep it looking as close to functional as you can.
Good luck. Tell the new owner about Airforums. Pat

It looks like it's in good shape, just dated. I'd try selling it. They are rare and someone may be interested. The lack of title may be a sticking point. For something made between '89 and '91 I would think it would have had a original title.

I used to work on travel trailers.
The unit was not stored properly and busted the hot water heater and fresh water tank.
I used the bypass value to bypass the hot water heater because as soon as you supply water to the tank it pours onto the floor.
The tank itself is leaking and not the water lines going to it.

Thanks.
It has a title but the title holder died a long time ago.
The guy who I got it from promised to get me the title for the trailer since it was registered to his dead uncle.
I waited 2 years for the title and he never delivered it as promised.
I am really upset with this guy who was a good family friend but he is dieing from cancer so I don't know what to do.
I am lost as what to do.

Hopefully you have some paperwork proving your ownership. A bill of sale? Can you get a copy of the prior owners death certificate? Get the VIN number off the trailer and go to your Dept. Of Motor Vehicles and see what steps are needed. This can be fixed.

If you're still in contact with him ask if he'll give you the title as it is and go from there.

If you check the going price for recyclable aluminum (a lot of aircraft aluminum cannot be recycled), and guestamate how much of the actual trailer weight is aluminum, you'd probably be lucky to get $2,000. Just a guess from my co-pilot who in a previous occupation ran a metal recycling yard moving semis of scrap metal daily to be melted down. Most places wouldn't be interested in dismantling it.
