Hearty Hello
I want to say hello to everybody that is blessed enough to have an Air Stream. I an a first time owner and although it took me 10 years to get one, it was worth the wait. I don't have a new one but I believe that half the fun of having an Air Stream is to make the old look new again. I have a 1971 31ft and I am having it delievered tomorrow and I can't wait to start work on it. It doesn't need an awful lot but I want it to look brand new. Anybody that has one like mine please e-mail me with any suggestions that would make the restoration proceed smoother so my job will be easier, I would be apprieciative. Thank You and I look forward to meeting some of you.

Hi mypapa,
I have a 1986 31' Sovereign. I am very happy with it and it tows like a dream. You will find lots of projects to do (it is never ending...) but the priority is to get the running gear (tires/brakes) and weight distribution/sway control dialed in. Once that is done, you can go camping safely even if there are chores left to do.
This forum is the mother lode for technical and operational advice and the people you'll meet here are the finest kind.
Enjoy your incipient "aluminitis" -- it's a swell state of mind,
mike

Well, today is the big day, huh?
Welcome to the forums.
For info, I would suggest looking through some of the restoration threads. If you do a search using the search function in the blue bar at the top of the page, you will uncover a mountain of info.
Good luck in your search for info, and with your new project. We would all love to see before and after photos.
Nice to have you,
Dave

Glad you finally got your A/S and you will always be able to get answers on the Forum to questions that pop up.
Make sure your running gear, etc, is in good repair and then get out this summer and enjoy camping. You can make it look brand new next winter!!

Oh - forgot to mention
We got our 1974 31' Sovereign last October and checking it all out for the summer. Your 71 should be quite similar to our '74

I love your first line when you said " blessed enough to have an Airstream". We are all blessed aren't we.
