Hawai`i bound

Aloha, friends! I just joined and am in the process of getting a 1953 "Flying Basket Case" ready to barge over to the Big Island from Seattle. Its down at my metal shop right now just shaking with anticipation at having its shell torn (gently) off.The frame looks like an old ship wreck garnished in rat turds. Wish me luck! THE SEAMOBILE

Aloha seamobile -- and welcome to the Forums! You are taking your daring & challenging project so far away. It will be an interesting story I'm sure.

A hui hou!

Aloha

I live in Maui three months out of the year. I can tell you that one of the challenges you'll face is getting bits. Everything is quite a bit more expensive here, especially tools and raw materials. I just bought a MIG welder and it was about $200 more than it would have been on the mainland.

You might find my maui blog interesting. the link is in my signature
