I am glad I found an Airstream specific forum. After attending the California RV Show in 2005 and 2006, I can say in all honesty that white fiberglass trailers are not my thing!
I hope to own a Safari or International and am planning on acquiring one before I retire. Then, it's off to full-timing and volunteer work in our national and state parks.
Recently, I attended a vintage trailer rally at Newport Dunes RV park in Newport Beach, California. In addition to older Airstreams, there were a number of other makes, including a Bowlus (spelling?)! Pride of ownership was apparent in every one, even those awaiting restoration/renovation.

Welcome aboard. And glad that you've made the decision to join the Airstream family. If you don't know, a few of us will be getting together (15 AS TT's so far) for the California Streamers Fall Rally up in Kernsville (near Bakersfield/Lake Isabella) area. November 2,3,4, 2007. You're more then welcome to pay us a visit to check out the various AS trailers and get a feel for the type of people who own Airstreams. You have questions? We probably will have someone there who knows the answer. Check out the Rally's section of the Forum for details about the Fall Rally.

The same goes for this forum. If you have a question, someone has the answer. If we don't have an answer, then the question doesn't exist!

In any case, Welcome Aboard and good luck in your search for that perfect Airstream.
