Greenhorn Airstreamers - 1st One!

We just bought a '76 Tradewind today! We have been looking for many months all over Texas (we live on the south Texas border) and found a clean beauty here on the edge of civilization. It will need some work, but with what I've seen on the forums, I know I have help out there. Our new baby has no fresh water tank or water pump, door slightly sprung at top and bottom, the electric system seems OK but not yet completely tested, and the kitchen cabinet has been replaced but with no stove or oven. There is no bed or front sofa, but otherwise we love it! Our heads are spinning with possibilities. We've never towed anything before, but are confident we will have no trouble. I'm sure we will join all the clubs, attend many rallies and caravans, and be good helpful Airstreamers for many decades.

Welcome to the Forums;

Nice looking unit. From the sounds ofit you can pretty well remodel the way you want to. This is the place to get ideas. Keep an eye out on the forum for the restoration rally held in Albuquerque the middle of April by the Four Corners Unit. This year we had a tent so we could hold all the people that attended. Several of them caravaned in but a few of the flew in from the east coast and rented hotels. It is held at Enchanted Trail RV park West of Albuquerque which is adjacent to Camping World.

Keep an eye out and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Beautiful project

Good luck with your project. She looks very sound on the outside. And this is the place to get advice from people who's "been there, done that".
