My first burning question is how to remove the front lounge to have it reupholstered? It is not in good shape, very soiled and faided. Guess there is no way to clean it.

If you are planning to have someone do your reupholstery work, you are only about a day's drive from someone with years of experience with Airstream upholstery and drapes. Arlene Fowler of Fowler RV Interiors has reupholstered many Airstreams over the years including both of mine -- her work is absolutely fabulous, and she has an excellent selection of materials. The Fowlers have recently started a website describing their business that can be found at:

Arlene and Henry are both craftspersons -- Henry restored the drop-leaf table in my Overlander (replacing the Formica top with Oak hardwood); and re-created my Credenza Table in the Minuet using beautiful hardwoods that matched the woodwork in the balance of the coach. Arlene handled the details of upholstery, drapes, floorcoverings in both of my coaches.
Good luck with your Excella!
