Good to be back on the forum

Hello, a year or so ago I logged on and sort of drifted off and after some help from the web folks found my log in info. So, I'm back!! We have been pulling our trailer all around the country since 1998 and loving it. We retired in 1999 and though we are not full timers we have seen a lot. We do belong to the WBBCI and have taken 3 caravans plus our New England Unit has been a source of great fun and travel. We find that RV folks in general are usually great company and sources of info. Hopefully someone can help us with replacing our radio/cassette player in our 25' 1987 Soveriegn. My main squeeze got it out but could not put the new one in, also a Sony. He thinks the surronding plastic door thingy may pop out if he does the right thing. Any suggestions? Thank you so much. Carol

Hi Carol and Warren,

Welcome back to the forums! We did some refreshing of our lounge area last year and put fabric on the board that the radio/CD player fits into. We needed to take the inside panel off (accessed from one of the overhead cabinets) and then we were able to unscrew the board to add the fabric. I think your layout is like mine, as our Airstream is just a few years younger than your Airstream. Anyway, I've attached a photo that shows how we enhanced the backer board for our radio. If this is like the board you are trying to remove I think you will need to follow the same process we did.

PS - double click on the photo to expand it.
