We do belong to the WBBCI and have taken 3 caravans plus our New England Unit has been a source of great fun and travel. My main squeeze got it out but could not put the new one in, also a Sony. He thinks the surronding plastic door thingy may pop out if he does the right thing. Any suggestions? Thank you so much. Hi Carol and Warren,
Welcome back to the forums! We did some refreshing of our lounge area last year and put fabric on the board that the radio/CD player fits into. We needed to take the inside panel off (accessed from one of the overhead cabinets) and then we were able to unscrew the board to add the fabric. I think your layout is like mine, as our Airstream is just a few years younger than your Airstream. Anyway, I've attached a photo that shows how we enhanced the backer board for our radio. If this is like the board you are trying to remove I think you will need to follow the same process we did.
