Fulltimer in Terlingua

Stumbled onto this site and am happy to see it.

I am currently the GM of a resort/RV park/golf course in this remote and beautiful area just outside the Big Bend National Park. I haved been parked here for the past three years, enthralled with the amazing and ever changing scenary and loving the desert solitude.

My companion on this journey is a West Highland Terrior, "Bear"

Love my AS and the lifestyle.

.................Nice and isolated area but rather HOT during the Summer . Potable water is a major problem from what I hear . Some developer from Houston is supposed to be developing an up scale housing development I believe . Seems he invested quite abit of money in developing a stable water supply system for his development . Are you saying you are living in your AS during the summer??? r66

How does Bear like the Chili Cook Off?

I've studied Texas Chili before, someday I'd like to go to a Chili Cook off.

We're glad you "stumbled" in !! Wife and I were down your way 3 years ago. As i remember it was the year you had a wet winter and spring and the Blue Bonnets we beautiful. Everyone said they were seeing flowers that they hadn't in years. There were huge carpets of them. We didn't go through Terlingua. We came into Big Bend from Marathon and left via Study Butte and Alpine, Beautiful country that we hope to revisit some day. We were cautioned not to go out your way , RT 170, that there were some steep grades that RV's had trouble climbing. Is there anything to that?----Pieman

Chili Cook Off

For those of you interested in the International Chili Cook Off held each year in terlingua, Tx. Go here: http://www.chili.org/terlingua.html

Go to the very bottom of the page for more information.

Do you believe it, There is a "Chili.org".

I was towing a 20' Avion with a Ford Explorer and did have an engine overheating problem. Stopped for a bit then proceeded in 4WD Low Range. No more problems.
