First timer here

Hi lads, how you doing
Been lurking here awhile, reading tons of posts and even understanding a few of them. I don't even think i've seen an Airstream let alone owned one, but that will change, trust me!!! Anyway i'm here in Ireland and will be retiring soon and am looking for an adventure for myself and herself. We gonna be in Florida in march, looking for some fella with big ears, Mickey someone i think!!!! Any clues as to the best places to look for Airstreams while we're there would be handy.
Anyway i have a clue of what i'm looking for ie; trailer and something to pull it with, i'll be needing help with that at a later date, thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, one other thing, English! Now English English is different to American English, so if i upset anyone just reach in and give me a poke, no offence would be intented.
Good luck
Pete

Hello from California!

Couldn't give you advice on where to look in Florida... except try our Classifieds and look for a Florida address.... or craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums and click on Florida.

Good luck, and congrats on your soon to be retirement!

Welcome to the forum.

Hi, I don't think you will have any problem finding an Airstream in Florida. Before we finally bought our trailer, it seemed that most all of the trailers for sale were in Florida. Too far of a drive for us to check them out. But we did drive from Southern California to Eugene, Oregon to pick up our final decission. [New]

Another welcome to the forum - Florida is my winter home at "Land Yacht Harbor" approximately 50 miles from Disney. "Land Yacht Harbor" is an "Airstream park" located in Melbourne Florida with 302 sites. Approximately 75% of the sites are Airstream. Check out their website. Have a safe trip and enjoy your stay.

Hello....

I knew an "Irishmerc" back in Angola early 80's. I hope that is you.
We will all help you in the Airstream search...just ask.
If you come to Texas....be careful if you ask for a "poke." English is very different here.

Pete,
Off to a good start, central Florida probably has what you are looking for, and the weather will be at it's best.
Starting point already mentioned Airstream park, but want ads and RV dealers abound in the state.
If I was looking for that combination I would look for an owner getting out of the camping mode of travel, that way you would be getting capable vehicle along with high quality unit.
Enjoy your visit with mm just remember that isn't the real Florida, which you will experience driving around the state looking for your AS.

Hi Lads, how you doing
Thanks for all the advice, looking constantly at the classifieds here. Thanks for the offer Frank, but i have to be going west, no intention of returning to England.
Good luck with your seach Gary, hope the AS near your home is the one for you.
Thanks for that Willyd, i'll be sure to check that site.
Melody Ranch, Angola in the 80's, that would of been a hot ole place back then, it wasn't me anyway but i'm sure there was adventure to be had, and yeah i think i got the poke business worked out for when i get to Texas lol.
Yeah ya right Al, Ireland is a pretty place alright, just a shame it's so shaggin small, ya can drive across it in 3 hours, still, let me know next time ya ain't got time to get outta the airport, we'll have a few pints of the black stuff and a few drops of whiskey
Yeah, know what ya mean about mm DaveFL, was there before, gotta take herself cos she ain't been, and yeah i fully intend to drive the crap outta the rental for a couple of weeks looking round.
Thanks again all
Good luck
Pete

You'll be here in March, eh? Good time to come - nice weather. Right now it's stinkin' hot. Still.

When you find Mickey - look for his campground (Fort Wilderness, a Disney park) and you might find some Airstreams in there. Popular spot.

Just outside of Orlando is a trailer park called Christmas RV Park (in the town of Christmas, for Fort Christmas). It used to be an Airstream exclusive park but now is open to all. There's quite a few AS trailers in there. Also, two older units are parked down the road from there --- been sitting in a field for over a year. Priced too high and so they sit, lonely little fellas (or gals --- didn't look close enough to tell). There might be an opportunity to be had if you're interested in a project or two.

Hi,

Between Orlando and Tampa (just off of I-4) is an Airstream dealership. When my husband and I were looking to buy one (I had never even been in an Airstream before!), we stopped at this dealership and were able to see many of the different models. It was there that our adventure truly began. I was on board with our whole crazy full-timing plan after visiting the dealership and seeing the models.

Have a great trip!
