First time Airstream owner in Ohio...
I'm a late 20's graphic designer and homesteader/hobby farmer from central Ohio. I just took possession of a '63 Overlander today. It is my first camper of any kind.
I plan on using it as a guest house of sorts on my farm, and for camping when resources permit me to someday get a vehicle that will reliably tow it.
She's sound as a drum and is nearly all original inside, but will need some interior restoration and renovations, and some fixes and upgrades.
Hoping to meet some fine folks here and glean enough info to tackle this project properly.
So, hi all!

fellow Ohioan
Hi! We love to see more Ohioans who are airstreamers! We have quite a nice group of us here in OH who love to get together and camp. We post on a thread, about where we are going camping. Ohio Airstreamers - informal forum for weekend camping - Page 4 - Airstream Forums
There are some more Ohio activities going on this year. We can't wait for spring to get here!!!
Ohio TAC rally at Wooster, OH. April 8
Alumapalooza, Jackson Center, OH May 31-June 5
Check out the rally calendar once in awhile.
We hope you will come and visit at a rally or an informal weekend thing or one of our driveway rallies!

Thanks all for the warm welcome!
Here she is:
For higher rez and more detail shots, here's a link to a set of pics. She needs a good cleaning for sure, but overall I'm quite pleased with the condition.
As for camping, it might be a bit before I travel with her.
A) Working more than full time, renovating a house, and setting up a small organic farm and orchard doesn't leave me with much time.
B) My small pickup truck won't reliably tow her anyplace.
That said, I'm going to pick up replacement parts as I can, and keep working on her as an ongoing project. Once I can, I'd certainly be amenable to some camping outings!

"Hay" farmer smith........Nice AS. We have some things in common. I'm a graphic designer too.......except I'm at least 40 years older than you. I have an interest in Airstreams too.....we have had 7 so far.......have 3 now. Be careful, this alum. stuff is habit forming. If you want to check out my 62 Bambi resto, click on the "Images 8" over on the left side in my Profile area.

Oh nice airstream! Very much like mine except for my front cabinet is the built in fiberglass type. And you have the refrigerator which makes me jealous! If you get a chance (no hurry) can you post the model number on the it! I've been trying to figure out what the original model was . That's going to make a very nice guest house indeed! Oh and by the way I suspect yours is really a 1962 as indicated by the strap door hinges and front wooden cabinet (and your serial number I think has a 62 in it!) Maybe others will confirm? Welcome!

I've got to welcome the Ohio guy!
I'm intrigued about the Airstream of course, but this is an Airstream forum...what else would be expected?
I'm even more intrigued with the hobby farm / homestead. Andrea is the primary driver of us trying to do something similar, although I am sure that we're years behind you as we don't even yet claim to be homesteaders. We're just homesteader wannabees right now.

See?! I knew it would be worth associating myself with knowledgable people. Thanks for the info. Guess I'm out of the '63 club... :-)
Will check on the model no. of the Dometic fridge when I get a chance. Where is such a number likely to be?

Thanks for the photos...nice '62! Don't be surprised by the "surprises" you find as you get it road ready.
Post your progress to keep the rest of us motivated...
