Thumbs up First Airstream!

About a year ago, my husband, Richard, saw a vintage Airstream sitting behind a garage...he stopped and asked about it but they didn't want to sell. This morning, my cousin was driving by, saw it along the road with a 'For Sale' sign, called me and my husband went an bought it! It is a 1962 Globe Trotter with the bathroom stool on the curb side. The previous owners took the couch out and replaced it with a nice counter with lots of storage...not sure how I will like that but it may work. We live in Michigan near the Indiana border and are members of several camping groups.

Welcome to the Airstream Forum!

Your location caught my eye. I drove through Three Rivers last summer when we were headed over to Lake Michigan while I was visiting family in Sturgis, MI.

will try to post pics as soon as we figure out how to plug the electric in to our garage outlet...we seem to only have the electrical for a 50 amp campground hookup

BE CAREFUL!!!! what looks like a 50 amp outlet might be 230 volts and NOT the 115 volts you need.

DO NOT PLUG THE TRAILER INTO 230 volts. It is designed to operate on 120 volts AC. Normally a 30 amp circuit is preferable. If you don't have air conditioning, or don't operate the air conditioner. You can use a common 15-20 amp outlet like those I'm your home . There are adaptors for this purpose if the plug on the trailer is 30 amp.

Congrats on your new Globetrotter. They are great Airstreams.

Three Rivers also rings a bell with me. I dated a girl at WMU who was from Marcellus. Her highschool boyfriend, Ernie I think, was from Three Rivers, about 48 years ago.

Howdy and welcome to Airforums, Dianna and Richard!

You know, the way you described your acquisition of your new-to-you trailer, it sounded kind of like the trailer called to you that it was time to come and collect it.

We look forward to seeing lots of photos of it, and hear about the improvements you make to it.

Mazel tov!
