After a couple of false starts at the end of last year, I just purchased a 2007 Safari LS FB. I had originally been looking at the newer model Ocean Breeze, however, I couldn't find any that weren't at a premium, and when I did try to purchase a couple, I guess I was a day late and a dollar short.
Frustrated, I reevaluated everything and came back to the trusty AirForums time and again. You very nice folks suggested patience to find the right deal, and I lucked out on an Airstream I found on eBay.
This process has taken about 7 months, but it was worth the wait. I had to learn a lot about towing vehicles, types of airstreams and a lot of other topics I had no idea about. After reading the Forums quite a bit, I settled on the Toyota Tundra for our tow vehicle and bought it the day before they announced the massive Toyota brake recall
I then settled on the exact size of Airstream I wanted (25') and started narrowing my search. I decided new might not be best for our first trailer, since I wasn't sure what our learning curve was going to be and how many dents we would put in it. I figured a little older would take away some of the concern of getting that first scratch.
I found a nice 25' with only a few thousand miles. Once again, by reading the Forum, I found out about Horizon Transport, who I would definitely recommend. Our driver was wonderful and really helped us out a lot. He was able to bring the unit through driving rain all the way from NJ without any issues and ahead of time!
I know am a happy owner of a new (to me) Safari and have already scheduled our trip to the keys.
Thanks to everyone for all of their help!
