finally found the new thread button..wow

Just purchased a 1973 or 74 27ft I think overlander. The trailer was in such great shape and I thought the price so good that I just wrote a check. Suppose to take delivery and get title in a couple days. Thought this site looked great for it can answer a lot of questions on the trailer. I have always liked the airstreams. Hope it is a good experience.

Congratulations on the new coach and welcome to the forums! I look forward to hearing about your new overlander (or other). Post some pics when you get them, we LOVE pictures of airstreams. If you need help with this just ask!

It's going to be a great experience, learning and otherwise. As a matter of fact, there is a high probability that it will be the only experience you'll have for the next year or so.

If you want to get someone off drugs, give them a vintage Airstream. Problem solved (there won't be any time for drugs).

Crossfire,
Get the Vin number and we can tell you what year your trailer was built!!
Should be on the plate to the left of the door.

Hi crossfire--The serial number for your A/S is engraved in the aluminum plate that says Airstream, on the right side of your trailer, just forward of the door. You will find a number like: I27D3J 1234, which is International, 27', Double bed, 1973, built at Jackson Center, build number. If the fifth digit is 4, you have a 1974 model. For my money you have the optimum size for handling, and travel comfort. Look forward to many years of A/S fun.--Frank S
