Fell deeply in love- but not an Airstream.

Hello gang, Graeme here, hoping to find a Silver Streak with the older design and windows in front which have the alien look! Long admired Airstreams, but when I saw these, time to break open the piggy bank!

I've missed 2 recently which came to England in the form of a related caravan- Curtis Wrights- and hoping to locate one in UK for a quick purchase and winter-long restoration project to perfect original spec, updated with latest gadgets, of course!

Any knowledge of these here on the Forum? Any owners who know the pitfalls?

Any assistance is sincerely and genuinely appreciated! Graeme

I'm fairly new to the forum myself and am learning more about Airstream and AS trailers everyday. Is this what you have?

No, the one I'm looking to buy is a sleeker, more torpedo shape, as I saw with early Airstreams, they were sharper in shape with a more drastic taper. These have 2 fixed windows- they don't appear to open- and are split in the center. Rare. Old. Expensive. But for me, the only way. Cheers, Graeme.

Fell deeply in love- but not an Airstream.

Greetings Graeme!

Is the Curtis Wright below similar to what you have in mind? If so, there have been several discussions on the Forum regarding these trailers that have some relationship to the origins of Airstream. You can find these threads in the Vintage Kin Forum.

Good luck with your search!

Kevin

Hello and welcome to Air Forums! There are a number of threads on Curtis Wrights. Go to Search and select Advanced Search. Enter Wright (only the one word) in the keyword field; just under that select 'Search Titles Only.' Click 'Search Now' and read on...

Such pursuits are almost stratospheric in terms of finding/approaching... please keep us advised!

Thats the one! There are supposed to be 2 that are in restoration in England at the same shop, I'm trying to get there to see them and get a closer look. Thanks for all the advice, I admit, its a chore to locate one in England, but I'm determined!

I responded to the ad you mentioned, waiting for a reply. Not sure who has 2 in stock in England, but anxious to find out. I was told by the importers in England that they rarely come across one. Graeme
