Feel like we've joined a cult!
We are brand-new Airstream owners and are just tickled to be the newest members of the gang. I've wanted an Airstream ever since the Wally Byam caravan came and set up at the end of our road when I was about 6. Even as a little kid I could tell they were having a blast. Now we have a 1970 Tradewind that Ken drove from Balfour BC, where we live, to the other side of Winnipeg MB to pick up---about a 3600 mile round trip in 3 1/2 days!! I really never thought I would actually be on the internet searching for hubcaps and such, but it is so much fun!! We're looking forward to restoring it and taking lots of road trips with our two faithful road warriers, our Black Labs Woodrow and Clara Belle.

Welcome Ken & Janice. I can tell you'll feel right at home here in no time at all. Post some pix when you can.

Welcome to the forums! Sounds like your journey has begun. You might check out the WBCCI BC club. http://www.airstreambc.com/qry/index.taf
They are a great bunch of folks of all ages that do many campouts a year. You might even see a Airstream forums rally in a location near you. The NW forum folks tend to get together 3-4 times a year sometimes in Washington, sometimes in Oregon.

every successful fix gives you a new high and "status" (you please some, you don't others ) in the cult. Good luck and good camping!

Cult?
Ken & Janice,
You didn't join the Airstream cult, you were "born" into it. If you don't understand now, you will in no time. Welcome to the family.

I can relate
Hi Ken and Janice,
Welcome to the forums from the other side of Canada.
I can certainly relate to your post about getting hooked Airstreams as a child. The WBCCI caravans also visited my hometown in Lunenburg,Nova Scotia and I've been an Airstream addict ever since.
Not that there's anything wrong with that

Welcome to the luminus asylum Ken and Janice
I don't know guys - there seems to be a real influx of us maple leaf flag wavers joining the forums - must be all coming out of the woodwork
You will both have lots of fun guarenteed! whether in the WBCCI, or at the forums or in your backyard playing "dollhouse" with your new Tradewind.
Check here first on anything! you will most certainly recieve all sorts of leads on parts, and hints on how to fix this or that - and one of the best things here is everyones opinions are so different - it is what makes the little Airstream Cult tick!!!!
Happy and Safe Travels!

Welcome Ken & Janice!
Your excitement is infectious and Woodrow & Clara Belle will be just as happy about your A/S as you are. Love to see some photos, especially the canines as installed inside!

Welcome from North Vancouver! Perhaps if you ever head this way, we can swap Tradewind stories and your Labs Woodrow and Clara Belle can meet up and play with my Labs Kai and Samm! Imagine that, Tradewinds and Labs! We must have been separated at birth!

"Feel like we've joined a cult."
I was wondering why my drivers license had that 666 number in it!
