Expression of glee
I just got a 2008 16' CCD International and a Honda Ridgeline. Only problem is it is in Vegas and I am in WA State. I won't have time to pick it up until July!!! We are planning a family vacation on the way home, hitting Zion and Yellowstone as well as some other places. I have a wife and 3 young kids. Are there any other families with little kids in such a small trailer? We are moving up from a VW Westfaila, but we usually used that in conjunction with a tent. I am hoping we can all figure out how to sleep in this thing, maybe one kid on the floor. I don't really have a question, I just having been reading this site for weeks, and could no longer keep my aquisistion to myself! No if I could only make July get here sooner...

Thatsalottapeopleinasmalltrailer! <--- you may feel a bit cramped. I have a 1007 19 footer, and in my experience, you are probably going to have 2 on the dinette and one on the floor under the dinette (probably feet towards the front of the trailer), which will work as long as the furnace isn't on. You'll need a folding chair for the head of the table, too.
Zion, Kings Canyon, Yellowstone will be great.

I'm a proud owner of a 2008 international as well. I'm sure you will figure it all out, in the mean time, the bed is big enough that if the kids are preschoolers they could all three use it, if they are older, a tent set up under the awning would be one option. Enjoy! the A/S is a beauty.

Thanks guys, I know it will be a little small, but often it is just me and my son hunting, an later it will be just me and my wife. The kids are 5,8,and10. We use a tent with the VW, and that works. This was a family deal, or else I would have got something a little bigger, but still it is a step up from the VW. The camping with the kids all started when my wife would go out of town to see her sister. I would take the kids camping so I wouldn't have to clean the house. We all loved it so much. I imagine a lot of the trips will still be just me and the kids too. There are so many cool places to go within just a few miles of here, I am sure we will use it a lot. Biggest down side is the ferry cost to get it home, about $120. The VW was only $25

Welcome. Because of your camping background you will do fine. The Ridge pulls anything under it's load rating with great aplomb.
