Exclamation Eureka!! I have done it!!

I am somewhat new here. I have submitted several posts, helped out a little, here and there, and read at least a thousand threads to educate myself. I'd say that I am about and average member here. Well, I have got my travel rig together....finally. I have found and purchased a 1994 GMC Suburban 3/4 ton tow vehicle, sight unseen, and advertised right here on these Forums. I am very pleased with it. I bought a Reese dual-cam weight distributing hitch from a contact right here on this Forum. And......I have had one bad experience, driving a 1000 miles to look at a 1984 Excella in Jacksonville, FL, advertised right here on this Forum by a re-seller, and I started a thread about my experience with a lot of interest from members.

But.....now I want to report that I have found and purchased a 1976 31ft Airstream International Sovereign, in excellent condition, and tomorrow morning, me and the "Behomoth" (the 94 Suburban) are headed north to go get it. I think that I have covered all the bases, ins, road hazzard, electrical connector, tires, wheel bearings, (it's been an a farmer's barn for the past 6 years), etc. I am excited and a happy man......and I am grateful for all the helpful and informative comments that I have read on this Forum. Thank you, Bill Lewis

Congratulations, Bill!

I know that you are going to be very busy, but please, please take lots of pictures of your acquisition, especially in its current habitat. The best thing about these forums is being a virtual participant in the hunt, the find, the afterglow, the reality check, the restoration, and the completed product.

This is the 78 Sovereign. The "behemoth" photo files are all too large to meet the rules for up-load, and I haven't yet figured out how to crop or edit them to make them fit. Bill

What a nice looking trailer, we have a 75 and just love it. The clearcoat looks good amazing ours looks so bad around the end caps. Remember it has been stored inside you may need to look at sealing the top and above the windows etc. I was told this by a forum member when we got our's last year and after a few rains I did it. Welcome to the world of big trailers.
