Closer to Purchase
So we are getting closer to purchase on a 33' Classic. Just a few questions to help us make the jump: 1) Should I expect 20-30% off MSRP? I would love to negotiate 30%, but what is everyone else getting? 2) Would you upgrade to Power Plus? We would plan an Alaska trip and heard camping along the highway is typical when traveling up there. 3) Love sleeping in the same bed as my wife, but if your not full timing, would you recommend the twin beds? Seems like it gives more in and out room, plus she lifts her side of our split king more than mine.
Anyone own the 33'er who wishes they would've gone a different direction?

15% to 20% was the norm before this COVID year. Occasionally at model year end some would occasionally exceed 20%. Most have been reporting most dealers barely budging a couple of percent off MSRP this year because they are out of stock due to the COVID driven demand.

Hello from Colorado: My folks lived in Eureka Springs during their retirement years and loved it. Dad went fishing every day I swear. They made many trips to Rogers. We loved visiting them in the mountains there.
We have a vintage 86 Limited 34'. It has twin beds in the rear. We prefer the twin beds just for the reasons you mentioned.
I read about the power plus option just the other day. My bet it would return the original cost at the time of trade in or sale. People like to "boondock" and not have to worry about batteries and no 120vAC. I would think it would be worth it.

I can confirm that my dealer started with 2% off MSRP automatically, I asked for 20%, they said there's no way given demand and inventory, and we landed at 4% off. I don't enjoy negotiations so I just let it be. Others may have better success, but I would guess 20% is less achievable "these days."

Econ 101: when demand exceeds supply, prices rise. In 2015 we got 15% off MSRP on our new FC23FB. A month ago we visited our Airstream dealer to see about trading for a FC25FB. They had very little inventory on the lot, offered 2% off MSRP and $40,000 for our 23 footer which has 1,600 miles and is in great shape. So it would cost us $58,000, with tax, to upgrade. Although I could probably get $50,000+ selling my trailer myself, I don’t think the dealer will come down until the market returns to normal. So we are sticking with our current trailer which we love.
We took a couple of long trips this past summer, one to Reno and one to Montana and had a great time. Traveling with a trailer in this COVID environment is a good way to stay safe and socially distance. If I didn’t already own an Airstream I’d consider just paying the going rate rather than waiting for a better price, which will probably be a while.

The only question I can answer. I like the twin bed models. I dislike one big bed in a trailer.

We closed a deal on a 2021 International in Early Sept and took delivery just before Thanksgiving. It was a unit that the dealer had on order for their stock and it was the specs that we wanted. I searched 4 states for it. We got 20% off.
Everything went smooth as silk until we got the trailer home and found things that the dealer missed on their PDI. Now its in the shop waiting on parts which could take 2 months to get.
PM me if you want more info
