cleaning interior

Scrubbing, scrubbing, scrubbing! Any suggestions on what to clean the interior with. 1972 Land Yacht, all original. Dingy color on the walls, think it's been cooked in a lot and possibly smoked in but I can't tell. Have suggestions?

Hippiechick,

The best product for that is a spray called KRUD KUTTER. I know from experience while getting my ARGOSY ready for an interior paint job. See post 181 here:

I think you will find it at HOME DEPOT.

Scrub until clean, in a week wonder how the walls got stickey again, scrub until clean...repeat...repeat...

About the 7th or 8th scrubbing the walls sill remain unstickey for about a month...keep repeating, and repeating, and repeating.

Eventually all of the nasties will complete leaching out of the vinyl.

We need pics!

I ended up using Kurd Kutter and scrubbed w the 3M non-abrasive green scrubbie
It says on the pkg non-abrasive. Wipe off with good quality paper towels.
I used every cleaner know to man and this WAS the cats meow!
Walmart and Lowes also sells K.K.
Jane
I use the stuff on walls, also.

Janie Q has it right. I used ALL of the products mentioned so far, only to have Denis' experience.

ONLY Krud Kutter worked. It doesn't matter what the magic is; it really works on that sticky vinyl covered aluminum.

Pics I hope!

Trying to add some pics to the post. Picked this Airstream up recently, she's my first one. 1972 Trade Winds. At the moment, just scrubbing interior. Found out yesterday everytime I tried to plug in the electric, I blew a breaker. Going to finish the scrubbing and dig into that.

When you click on the "GO ADVANCED" on the reply screen, there is a tiny paper clip icon, click there and a screen will pop up and you can upload a picture there from your computer.

Where in Oklahoma are you? We are SW of OKC.

Good Luck! ...and BTW, I agree, Krud Kutter is the one and only!

cleaning walls

I used a cleaning product called "krud cutter" and Mr Kleen soft scouring pads,. Made short work of 10 years of build up on the interior of our GT.

Power Scrub

This is an issue with just about all vintage vinyl clad walls I have seen. Here is what I finally came up with to make the job easier...and it works really well. We use TSP.

cleaning interior

After you've finished scrubbing off the "sticky", coat the walls with Future floor wax & the sticky won't come back.

For me the worst is the floor. I find I do best on my hands and knees with a sponge. Lots of rinsing. The trailer really is not that big.
