Checklist
Hello Everyone........I'm a new Member and also a new owner of a 19' Safari. I would enjoy hearing from someone about checklists before hooking up and when parking the camper....also Ihave it parked in a storage lot and it's already dirty.........should I wax the rig or just wash it??
Best to you all, Robert

Welcome to the Forums!
As far as checklists go, here's a couple to get you started: Checklists
Most everybody kinda develops their own after going through the process of hitching up & moving down the road a couple of times. You may find some other lists by performing a search using "checklist" as your keyword.
With a new 2007 trailer, a good wash and wax would probably be in order, especially if it's never been waxed - gotta protect that clearcoat. I'm not as familiar with the "care & feeding" of the new ones...but many here online are. Hopefully someone will chime in. I believe Airstream recommends the Walbernize line of products. Personally, I would stick with their recommendations. Again, if you search using "Walbernize" as your keyword, it'll give you some rading material to catch up on until someone else posts a direct reply.

Search probably for "checklist" and you should find many.
Here is what I use when departing:
Check List – Pulling Out
- Vents closed
- Outside thermometer retrieved and stowed
- Hot water heater, water pump off
- Cupboards latched, loose stuff secured, table secured
- Door double-locked
- Awning secured
- Stabilizers up
- Chocks, blocks stowed
- Dump hose, electric cable, TV, water hose stowed
- Storage lockers closed
- Forward windshield secured
- Steps stowed
- Sway bar & torsion bars attached
- Chains, breakaway secure
- Receiver locked to truck, coupler locked to hitch
- 7-pin cable locked
- Truck mirrors extended
- Trailer lights (running, brake, turn) OK

Good list, but I'd add, "wind down TV Antenna", "put extra ice in fridge/freezer to keep food cold", "fully raise the hitch pin"

Thanks to everybody!!
I have found these checklists to be a great help for me. I am just starting out and was about to draft my own list. See you around the campfire!

You need two lists...
1. Items to pack before the trip
2. A Wal-Mart list for items you forgot.
