Cape Cod calling

Greetings from Cape Cod. I've had my 67 Airstream for some years now, but am finally getting around to the restoration. Looking forward to 'work from home' in the middle of nowhere, Starlink can't come fast enough!

Glad you’re getting time to start the reno. The 66 through 68 were unique years for Airstream. We renovated our 66 Safari back in 2015 and really enjoy the room inside. I’m sure you know, but careful with the curved windows. We don’t even mow around ours with the discharge shoot toward the trailers. Glad you joined the Forums and start a play by play reno thread. Take care and good luck.

Good luck with the reno. Pictures! Got any with the seashore in the background?

Welcome from snowy Colorado: I too enjoy the vintage Airstream hobby. The first trailer I renovated was a 66 Trade Wind 24'. As Bubba L said, it had those Corning curved glass windows. They look great, but prone to leaks. And yes, if you break one you will likely replace it with Lexan.

Here are some photos of my old 66 that I figured you would enjoy seeing. I sold this trailer for another project trailer, a 75 Overlander 27'. I would enjoy seeing pictures of your project when you get a chance.

Bubba L, please excuse me. I know you have seen these photos a hundred times.

David

I do have a peek of a water view from the kitchen window! I have to read the forum rules, all my photos are on Instagram and I’m not sure if links are allowed.

I collect old Corning glass... the fact that the airstream also has it is not lost on me. I’ve already got three plastic replacements that I have to replace.
