Can you stand another newbie??
Well that's us! Just bought a new 2005 19' bambi CCD.....which is clear from my screen name. It is in NJ and we are in MA. Bought it sight unseen -- but couldn't be happier. We plan on lots of weekend trips and a couple of weeks a year. My husband and myself, along with our 11 year old son and cockapoo. We drove to the RV show in Hartford this past weekend, and they had a trailer just like ours there! so we got to get a feel for it. It is perfect for us! They had to drag me out...I didn't want to leave.
I'll be checking in to these forums often for tips and advice, I'm sure. So glad to be part of the airstream community. It has been a dream of ours for about 4 years.
Thanks, and hello!

Welcome and Congrats!!
Welcome to the Forum and Airstreams! You should have great time and lots of opportunities to enjoy it! I'd encourage you to contact New England group for WBCCI and look for New England Forum members for events, rallies and get togethers. THese provide opportunities to talk to others who have lots of experience and have learned many things you are due to learn in the future.. No substitute for basic camping and travel as a family, but it can be interesting way to make new friends with common interests in the region...

Welcome...
We all know the feeling of getting the shiny new Airstream whether it's new or "new to us". I can't speak for other members of the forum, but I'm betting we all get a bit of a contact high from sharing your happiness.
May you enjoy years and years of Airstreaming.

Thanks for the nice welcome! I'll certainly check out those sites mentioned. Many thanks.
And Tin Lizzie! Why didn't I think of that when trying to quickly come up with a screen name? Darn. Too cute.
Great to be here. Lizzie

The Model T Ford was called either a "Flivver" or a "Tin Lizzie"
My Aunt Jean called HER Airstream "The Silver Suppository" (do it using the Sylvester the Cat lisp - thufferin' thuckotash!)

Thank you, Shari. That's really nice of you.....now I'm not destined to go through my airstream forum life with that first unimaginative name.
I think we may even name our bambi the Tin Lizzie....we were trying to come up with something!

Welcome Lizzie and of course we can stand another new member, the more the merrier.
We need to start a naming thread, why and what did we name our Airstream.

Hi.
Just wanted to say Welcome aboard!
You've come to the right place for answers, information on "how to's" and just plain getting together with people from all over with similar interest.
Oh, by the way, You'll find yourself going outside and staring at your AS and saying "Wow"! I've got one !
Then you go inside and sit down and just look.
Well, may all your trips be safe ones.
Best regards,
Safari-Rick

Hi Lizzie
We are also new owners. We bought a 2005 Quicksilver. We brought it home
and had to put it in storage...as we live in Sun Valley, Id. We did sleep in it
one night parked in front of our friends house in Boise. If any one can give
us advice or suggestions I'm sure it will help. We hope to get on he road about mid March looking forward to a nice trip south via Utah, NM and Texas.
Good Luck with your new AS and Happy Trails

Hi all,
Betty, I love that you stayed in it for one night in someone's driveway!! That's perfect.
We are going to pick our 19' CCD Bambi in March, on the way home from a trip to Washington DC. I think it will still be a month or two before we can really use it (Massachusetts!!) - but I know for a fact we will be sitting in it in our driveway, at least.
So nice to hear all the nice thoughts from everyone, and really hope to meet a few of you out on the roads.
Lizzie
