California 'Streamin

Hello Everyone!

It's great to be a part of the forums. I was a member about 5 years when I bought my '60 Overlander. I've been out of touch since then, but I'm back.

Since that time I've caught the "aluminum fever" and have aquired
a few more Airstreams...(sold the Overlander)
a '61 Carvel, a '67 Tradewind, and...ah, who's counting anyway...

Wonderful to be a part of the forum. I'm looking forward to reading more about you and your trailers and especially getting some good advice.

Pleased to meet you.

Cheers,
Kristiana

Welcome back!
You're in a great spot for launching into the Sierras. Any tips for good boondocking sites, etc? We're beyond new, and our goal is to spend time in quite mountain spots where there are good trailheads. Asking too much?
Happy 'Streaming!
Janet

Was that you?

Welcome back. Was that you on HWY 50? There is a picture in "Airstream Sightings" taken by Codybear. The license plate on the trailer is LOTUS CA.

Hi Janet, Ron & Debbie,

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Janet, I usually find myself trailering from point A to point B directly with little time for scouting out boondocking sights. Scouting is definitely on my travel list this spring, so let's share notes. The Sierras are an amazing place indeed. Anyone out there have any secret Sierra boondocking spots to share?

str8strm ( Ron & Debbie ), Codybear caught us in the act!
How fantastic is that? We were headed down to Hollister Ranch for Thanksgiving. For some reason we took my man, G's Nissan X Terra instead of my "69 GMC. 3 hours into the trip, the Xterra decided my "little lotus" was too much (the engine light came on), and we decided to head back. Moral of the story: 3/4 ton is the best bet even if it isn't as cozy, AND, home is where the heart is. We love home, so it wasn't a bad alternative.
Hope everyone had a wonderful and tasty thanksgiving.
P.S. I can't get over that photo!

You u-turned on a trip to HR? You must really love home. It's a favorite (sans trailer) destination for us. Magical, beautiful spot. Do you ever go to El Capitan on your way down. Great sites!

Janet,

Try not to rub it in!
We were really excited but had not choice but to turn back, we had about 5+ hours ahead of us, and the truck wouldn't have been happy. Oh well, next year...(a friend has annual Thanksgiving festivities there).
We've never been to H.R. before. Sounds like you know some good spots!
What's your next destination?
