Bought our 72 Ambassador on Thur...started reno. on Fri.

We're so happy to have found this site and to now be members!! This site rocks and is so informative!! We love it!! My husband and I have seen a few Airstreams since we've been together and we've always said, "one day we'll have one of those!" Sure enough now we do!! It all happened so fast. We've been talking about getting a camper because we have 3 little ones and we love traveling. It would make life so much easier if we had a little home on wheels where we felt comfortable and the kids had everything they needed. So, I went to craigslist and there "he" was....to make a long story short MANY people were interested, but we happened to get it. I was so excited, I wanted to cry because I was thinking of all the memories that our family will make in it. It's a 1972 Ambassador and was in good shape, but when we brought it home on Thursday we decided we wanted to completely renovate it and make it modern on the inside. So on Friday, my husband, who is a contractor got to work. We are so excited and are blessed to now have "Monty", the new addition to our growing family!!

Welcome! We have a 1978 Ambassador. We love the length and the layout. We have 2 kids and have traveled all over the country in that trailer. It is a perfect size for a family...not too big, not too small. We had a 1967 Ambassador when I was a kid (folks bought it new), we had factory bunks installed and we traveled with 6 of us. A little tight but it worked. Memories will be made! Congrats on your purchase and, again, welcome!

Thanks for the comments!! We are excited about all the new adventures we will be going on... There have been some messages about parts and not to throw them out. Just want to address that we are trying to salvage as much as possible and if anyone needs something from a 72 ambassador, that we are disposing of, they are welcome to have it. You'll just have to pay shipping. Let us know and we'll try to help out as much as possible!! Thanks

Congratulations-we have a 65 Ambassador and love it. Still lots to be done but it is functional now. We don't live too far away so give us a call if you are in this area.
