Bought a Bambi today

We're excited. We live in MI and the unit is in FLA. We may drive down to pick it up, or have it delivered. Not sure yet. We can't wait to use her!

Why let someone else have the fun of towing your new obsession, er, acquisition home? Florida is noce this time of year. Besides, if you time your trip to pick it up right, you can pick it up, and come to the Florida State Rally in February, have plenty of Airstreamers there to ensure your rig is set up correctly for the trip home, and visit the company store for goodies, all at once.

The rally is the third week of February. It is at the Sarasota Fairgrounds, off Fruitville Road. If you want more info, you can check the Rally forum here. Just go to the forum list, and find the rally zone, and look for WBCCI rallys, then look for the Florida State 2006 rally. We will also be having a forum rally within a rally at the same place and time. It will be more like a get-together, with possibly a dinner and movie one night in lieu of the scheduled entertainment.

Everyone see what you see. If you click on "go advanced" you have more text editing options available as well as the tools to upload images into your posts - that's the only diff...

A 40 mile or so hop, skip, and jump. The weather will be better to return to at the end of the rally, also. (end of feb/beginning of march) Weather right now is probably not that great to try towing a new trailer in up there.

Thanks. Do you know why when I registered, that the drop down box asking what rig I own didn;t list the 2004 19' Bambi. I had to select the 2004 19" CCD as it was the closest thing to what we have. ALso I bouth it from BAtes RV on Tampa. ANy way to find out more info on them? (HAven't mailed the check yet). Thanks!

Thought we'd pick up back over here vs. the trailer values thread....Bates was really nice. The owner FLEW IN while we were there this past Sunday in his helicopter!! Landed on the roof of the building-pretty neat. Anyway, they are a pretty bid dealer-can't seem to find another one down here that has as many AS on the lot!! They were moving them to the fairgrounds for the show this week.

Darrell-my parents will also be going to the rally. It would be neat to be able to go there, and if you had ANY questions about your Bambi, there'd be plenty of people there to tell you about it!

Hey Double D -- same here! We are also very excited, as we just purchased a new bambi too. We live in New England, and as far as I'm concerned spring can't come fast enough.

Just off Route 2 (Mohawk Trail) about 10 minutes west of Greenfield.
Thanks for the welcome! And I just learned of the NE unit of WBCCI and can't wait to check it out.

YEs, that would be awesome. Looks like we're going to head down on the 8th or 9th of Feb. Might be too soon for the rally.

The rally starts the 21st, and ends the 26th. If you left the 9th, you would likely get there on the 12th. Hopefully Bates will give you a night at the dealership to make sure you know how everything works, this will have you leaving Bates on the 14th. You can courtesy park in our driveway for 3 nights, leaving you only having to find a spot for 4 nights before the rally. And you can stay outside the rally site for one night prior to the rally, which means you only have to find a spot for 3 nights before the rally.
Finding courtesy parking while in a new coach is a good thing, as it means you will have experienced RVers within a few feet of you, should you have a question or problem. One of the forum members works for Bates, and he may be able to find you a spot for the other 3 nights, if everything isn't full of snowbirds.
BTW, and before you ask, courtesy parking is when a forum, or WBCCI member offers to allow you to park your coach at a location (usually their home).

Double D, Welcome to the Airstream family. Of course, come to Florida to pick up that new baby Bambi. Take her over to Ft. DeSoto Campground, a Pinellas County park, and check everything out before you take her home. We are working with Bates RV right now ordering an awning for our 1965 Land Yacht. Ft. DeSoto park is sooooo beautiful. You will love it. They also have a dog beach. It is one of the best campgrounds ever. Pinellas Co. (St. Pete Beach) and Hillsborough Co. (Tampa and Seffner area where Bates is located) are back to back. We wish you the most wonderful times in your Bambi. We will see you on the road! Terrie and Ray
