Smile Bama Newbies!

My husband and I finally realized our dream of an Airstream! We've enjoyed it so far (few problems with it, trying to get them resolved) and are planning an eight week trip this summer to finish off the last of the great 48! Looking forward to learning more about our Silver Palace and the great new friends here!

Welcome Bama Newbies, my wife and I are in LA (lower Alabama) - Panama City. You have come to the right place. This forum is a wealth of information and good advice. Use the Search feature and Forums to find out all kinds of information. We've only been members since last October but attending the Can Opener Rally in Santa Rosa Beach, FL in early January was the icing on the cake. I encourage you to attend a rally - like the Springstream in Hiawassee, Georgia in mid-April. The rallies are a fun way to meet other Airstreamers, see other trailers, eat great food, etc.

Thanks for the welcome! It's actually Car Tune Queen. Used to do a radio segment in the afternoon drive called Car Tunes. I'd call in every day to chat and request a car tune! It was great! The DJ who ran the program gave me the title. He was murdered a few years later and I kept my email name in his honor and memory.

Favorite cartoon though - Marvin the Martian! LOL

Jenny,

Welcome aboard! This is a great place to get useful information - and have fun. Just a good group of folks.

Someone earlier mentioned the Springstream rally in April in North Georgia, and that really would be a great way to get ideas, see other Airstreams and get connected if that is something you'd enjoy. There is a good presence here in the southeast - very supportive.

Did I mention I was envious of your eight week trip?

LOL LOL It took getting laid off from work and them wanting me back bad enough for me to make a deal. I work 4 days a week and off during the summer. David works part-time so he can adjust his schedule to be off that long. We're still working on the planning....I'm stuck in Idaho near Boise and can't decide where to go from there. Next destination point is to camp somewhere near Mt. St. Helens. Takes awhile to route this trip! I can't drive the rig, so I navigate. Just don't ask David about our trip across Wolf Creek Pass!
