Smile Argosy Restoration 2007

Hello I am new here and looks like this is gonna be a god send. I have seen so much good info on here its overwhelming. My husband and I just aquired a 1974 Argosy 28' that his father bought from the state of NC that was used by the marine biology dept for studies. Overall its in great shape but I want to restore it. Not having any knowledge in this dept I dont know where to begin. The shower looks terrible so I guess I am gonna need to redo it. We are gonna paint the inside. Not sure what to do in the front but want a gaucho to recover or a sleeper sofa. Any ideas, advice, parts, would be greatly appreciated. Like I said we are jumping in this with no idea what we are doing. But I am excited.

Welcome! You'll get lots of help here for your restoration. What kinds of changes did your Argosy undergo previously in order to accommodate marine biology studies? Hopefully most of the parts are there. Good luck!

Smile Argosy 2007

Thanks for the replies guys!
Fortunatly the Argosy didny undergo too many changes when it was occupied before really the only things missing are in the front which is the gaucho and water tank, which we dont need. So it leaves us some room to play with just not sure what we want to put there. We do know it needs to be somethingwe can sleep on.
One thing I am concerned about is the looks of the shower. The color is ugly and stained looking. Not sure how to fix that if anyone has experience with this. I dont see any damaged parts just looks bad.
