Another newby...
Well, I'm Robert, 42 years old, and enjoy trailer camping (too old for tents and the resulting sore back and neck.) I am an avid trapshooter and travel around the west coast to numerous tournaments to shoot. Bringing along a trailer makes my accommodations much more convenient...no hotels, better security, etc.
I currently own a small 5th wheel trailer but my wife and I have been "smitten" by the Airstream "bug." Kinda hard to look at SOBs without grinning...seem like junk in comparison.
Anyway, we (and our 4.5 y/o) are looking forward to finding the right Airstream and joining you all with our own "silver bullet."
Thanks (in advance) for your help.
Robert.

Welcome to the Forums Robert! Should we deliver 'it' right to your door? No really, it is an exciting adventure. Especially when you can combine two passions as you are. Come back often, ask questions -- and best wishes in your search!

Welcome Robert, I can understand what you mean. I just came home from a month as a camp park host in a state park. During the month I had to help numerous SOB campers with their trailers and fifth wheels. My 82 Airstream encountered no problems during the entire month.

Hello Robert,
It's one bug that is fun to get...Airstreams are in a class by themselves, you will love the feeling. Ask any and all questions you have, someone here will have the answer.

Robert, welcome. Be sure to check out the classified ads here on the site. Many units are listed here from knowlegable Airstream folks.
Enjoy your search and let us know what you find.... also what you're looking for.

Robert,
Consider shooting at the NRA Whitington Center near Raton, NM if you have not already been there.
It is a world class shooting range with nice scenery, abundant wildlife and an OK campground to boot.

Well, we've done it. Had to drive for almost two days (because of SoCal traffic)...but it's in our driveway. A truly "like new" 25" Safari.
I bought it from an AS dealer in the San Diego area who had just taken it in on a trade-up. I bought it for just under 27K. I persuaded the dealer to "throw in" a Yamaha 3000watt inverter Generator (the model with the surge-boost) as a "freebee." Compared to what I've seen in the classifieds here and elsewhere...I think we got a good deal...even before he donated the generator.
I'm sure I'll have lots and lots of questions for you all...I'll try to find the right forums for each to search and post.
Perhaps we'll meet "down the road" sometime!
Thanks to all!
Robert.
AIRSTREAM25: When my travels take me through NM, I'll have to swing by. I've seen photos and articles in the American Rifleman magazine. Thanks for the tip!
