Smile Another Newbie...Please Be Gentle!

My wife, Avis, and I just bought our dream Airstream - the 19' Safari Bambi. We pick it up next week and will be taking it on its maiden voyage. Look forward to learning from all of you. We previously owned a T@B - an "exploded tear drop." The Airstream is wonderful and we are really excited to join the Airstream community.

Congratulations on your purchase. Assuming it's a new one? Smart. I am currently in the bowels of a vintage Flying Cloud working on a restoration. Have a great time with it and hope to meet you on down the road.

Welcome Roscinant!

We purchased our 19' Bambi this year as well! Have already put thousands of miles on it and had it out once again this past weekend up in chilly MN! Had another wonderful time in the great outdoors and really enjoy the creatrue comforts of our new little unit. Unfortunately, had to break down and winterize it for the season! BUMMER to put it away for the year. Already looking forward to next spring!

GREAT CHOICE in campers! Wish you a bunch of wonderful trips! You'll find it is a wonderful way to travel.

Congratulations on your new baby and a big welcome to the Forums. There is a lot of great information here. Prepare to become fully alumitized. Remember that an Airstream always performs better when it has a name.

Congrats & Welcome

Hi, from the other coast. You'll love it So much more than the T@b - which is cute, but cardboard. The Airstreams all tow beautifully.

Do remember that counter-intuitive part of backing up.... the longer ones are easier than the shorter ones. Hands on the bottom of the steering wheel, move hands in direction you want the back end of the trailer to go.... and LESS is more. Don't make wild turns and over corrections. Easy does it.

Enjoy your new toy.

Paula

Welcome to Airstreaming!

Hi Roscinate,
Glad to another fellow Airstreamer to our ranks. You will love your new addition to your family. Yes, I did say to your family. That's the way us Airstreamers feel about our AS. It will many wonderful memories and adventures.

Be sure Avis learns to trailer as well. We are getting together a Women's Rally next spring and would love to add another to our group. Just type in Women's Rally in the Search on the tool bar.

Welcome to you both,

Mrs. Towdaddy (Vickie)

Welcome fellow '06 Bambi Safari owners. Seems like there are more Bambi owners than ever right now. We should be heating up the Bambi forums with lots of good information.

Thanks!!!!

Thanks for all the kind words of welcome! Avis and I cannot wait to attend our first Airstream rally and see all the cool thing people have done to their Airstreams. From your comments, I am sure we all "click" and have a ton of fun.

Best to each of you!!!

Rally bound?

Congratulations and keep an eye out for the NorCal (some consider them California) Rallys. Check the past threads for information...great group of folks. Looks as though the next one is going to be in January, possibly at 29 Palms. Once again, welcome.
