Another Newbie
I've started a "Newbie" post several times, but it never makes it to the screen. Perhaps, this time.
My wife and I boated on the Great Lakes for three summers and miss it terribly. What great fun we had! As the seasons change, we needed something to get us out and about and have been thinking trailering for
some time. We started looking several weeks (months) ago not knowing
one trailer from another but we knew we wanted something comparable
to the workmanship and quality of the boat we once owned - we just had
to learn what separated one trailer from another. We looked and looked and
discovered there were more similarities between trailers than there were
differences. Then, one day, we saw an AS. We knew we were done looking
we just had to decide which model would fit us.
We've been to several dealers in Ohio and many more on the internet. We've
found our perfect fit - a 23' International. We nearly purchased one a couple of weeks ago but when we sat down with our calendars, we discovered we had no free week ends until the end of Nov. Didn't see any reason to get it and watch it sit idle so are waiting until the Spring to make the big move.
It is our intention to use it OFTEN on weekends - three or four days at a time and then to see this country. We've travelled extensively in the East but never the South, Southwest, West or Northwest. We've been to Europe lots of times - now its time to see the USA.
Both of us are still working - my wife has retired once but has gotten involved with the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio as the Program Director and I am employed by a Columbus, OH funeral home (everyone always has questions to ask a funeral director) but one of these days we will be unhooked from the "daily grind" and free to move about the country.
Hoping to see you on the road soon........

Pilgrim, glad your braved the "newbie" waters and put your post out there. Welcome! You are going to so love traveling in your Airstream when you pick it up in the Spring. Maybe one of these day's we'll see you at one of the forum rallies, that is, if you can fit it into one of your weekends!

Welcome Pilgrim, Must be that this post was the "charm" for you. Glad you are here in the FORUMS with the rest of "us silver fanatics." The WBCCI unit I belong to here in North Carolina just rallied in Sugar Creek, OH. Not sure if that was close to you or not.

Sugar Creek (Amish Country) is a couple of counties north of us. We're in Hocking County - the hiking, cave walking area of Ohio. Lots of people visit the area to camp, hike, picnic, etc.. over a million a year! Lots of RV places to visit.

Sounds like a beautiful area. I hope to go on the Caravan to Sugar Creek next year and maybe I can explore the area.
