Like the newbie couple from Canada, we too have recently acquired a 1970 Tradewind 25'. Our cost $300 US, and we towed it home to the woods from Eugene only 50 miles. (Did Great!). We'll be putting up a page about our progress soon.
Short synopsis; we live in an intentional community with a main lodge house, our "Loaf" as we call it, will function mainly as a private retreat/bedroom/recording studio. Exterior OK, but has a bad dent on top, looks like tree damage. The interior was in fair condition, but not suited to our intended purposes. We did not doing a complete gut, but rather clean out the furnishings for a radical remodel. Someone else had done a lot of cheesy attempts at changing things around, we figured it would be better to start fresh. We have left the walls intact. all the window glass and screens are there but we need some of those bracket things that hold thie window levers up. No evidence of rodents or insects, some leaks and floor rot. Randy is a tradesman and tinkerer, we need to learn to apply his skills to this new environment; for example he 's never worked with aluminum or rivets. Be a newbie all over again!
We have removed the Univolt, toilet, black tank, water heater and Magic Chef cookstove, these are free to anyone who want to come and get them. We're keeping the Dometic fridge and Suburban furnace. I have no idea if any of this stuff works, it looks like it ought to. Other interior items have been recycled into other uses. We have a lot of questions, but i guess should read the forums and past threads well first so as not to clutter up bandwidth.
