Just got my first Air Stream a 1969 Ambassador. It came with nothing but a very checked history. Is it ture that I can trace the history by the very faded numbers on the front? And with the little research I've done on the Net it's seems to my that the Ambassador is clustered with other models and years. Where can I find Owner and Service Manuals?
All the numbers will tell you is what member of the WBCCI owned the unit at some time in it's history. However that will atleast give you a name to search for. With the help of this forum I located one of the previous owners of my trailer and he confirmed mine had been re-clear coated. Owners manuals come up on e-bay quite often.
Use this forum, it's the best available knowledge base for Airstreams!
There is a website that has some of the manuals in pdf format but I can't find it at the moment. Seems like it was linked through the vintage travel trailer link library somewhere. I will post it if I can find it. It had trailer, waterheater, oven and waterpump manuals if I remember correctly. Found it after I paid $40 through a secreterial service that I can't remember now either.
Maybe others can post it.
