A complete novice with Airstream

Just bought a 1973 Excella 500. The bathroom is completely gutted. The rest of the unit is original. Everything works!! Shell is clean except for two large dents in front entry side panel. Needs wood floor, sub-floor is in great shape, exception of bath. I am a carpenter by trade and want to restore to period. Need all bath components. Bought for a thousand dollars ( Found on a lonely Texas County Road) hooked up and pulled home. I started looking for a trailer about 90 days ago and got hooked on the airstream by reading about and looking at many other brands. Wanted a project and the quality of vintage Airstream versus other makes is night and day! So, here is another newbie with many questions, starting with the bath fixtures ( any leads appreciated and/or info) Also need a owners manual? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums and congratulation on the "new" trailer.
Owner and service manuals are both available for your trailer and can be purchased through the Airstream on line store.

The bathroom is a bit tougher...try RV salvage yards like Colaw's in MO or placing an ad in the Classifieds section - who knows, someone may be gutting theirs. Otherwise, you may have to customized something else to fit...it wouldn't be too difficult, we just had a stainless steel pan made and lined the interior walls with stainless steel sheet. It's similar to how ours was "new" in 1956 but we added a black tank so it's definitely "customized". Unfortunately, most people don't remove/replace their bathrooms if they are in good shape ~ good luck with your search!
