74 Overlander / International 27 ft

Have just about settled on this trailer. Would like to know what makes an Overlander an International? Also are there two batteries and if not is it that difficult to add a battery? Anybody have any insight as to the comfort of the full side couch bed. That will be the berth for me and my
wife.. relegating the smaller berth aft for the kids/grandkids.. Wonder what the difference between the 25 ftr and the 27ftr besides the obvious

There are quite a few differences between the 25 and 27 foot trailers. The International was pretty much a trim package, it would include such things as a relocated oven, different trim, and of course a spiffy "International" badge.
The 25 and 27 have completely different interior configurations, from where the fridge sits to the type of bathroom. A big difference is the 27 could be ordered with a rear bedroom (very rare option), and the 25 was center bed only. Both could have twin or double beds, but the fridge is much smaller in the 25.

Many of the 70's had a single battery compartment. Yours is located on the curbside near the rear of the trailer. hey are big enough for a grp 27 battery. I can go 3 to 4 days on a charge, but carry a Honda EU1000 to put some back in if I need to.

We have the mid side double as well. We keep it as a bed all of the time for convenience. The cushions were not very comfortable after 30+ years so we added a memory foam topper from Costco. It had to be trimmed down (too wide), and it made a big difference.
